Wool Comforter Advantages
Wool is one of the most absorbent and naturally fire retardant materials you can purchase, not to mention the warmest. Choosing a comforter made out of this material is a great choice.
Choosing a wool comforter is a fabulous idea for your bedroom. It is not only soft but it has an unparalleled resiliency, an amazing opulence and is safe beyond any other material.
It is a Natural Fire Retardant
Bedding made out of this material is made to absorb and retains all moisture it comes in contact with, which is what makes it so fire retardant. When you make this choice for your bed you know that you get safety from fires as well as no chemicals on your bedding like other materials to make it fire retardant.
It Retains Its Bounce
Wool fibers are made to be naturally kinked and springy. If you push down on that type of material it automatically springs right back at you. Using this material in your bedding makes for a comforter that always looks great because it is always springing back.
You Never Get Too Warm
This material is made to breathe right along with you. The material is specially made with small, air-filled cells that helps keep the proper temperature for your body whether it’s to keep it warm or to cool it down. That’s what it does on sheep and it does that for you as you sleep.
No Humidity for You
The material also absorbs water extremely well. It has been designed by nature to absorb 30% of its weight in moisture and at the same time still feel dry to the touch. When the humidity in the air is low, it works to release the moisture. On the other hand when there is a lot of moisture in the air it can absorb it and not even feel dry to the touch.
Labour bag – Have I over packed or missed anything?
I’m 16 years old, 37+4 weeks with my first baby and I’ve looked upon countless lists of what to take but they all say different things – so confusing!
In my bag I am taking:
For baby:
3 Sleep suits
3 Bodysuits/vests
2 pairs of scratchmits
2 Hats
Going home outfit: Booties, T-Shirt & Dungarees
2 Muslin Cloths
Cotton wool balls (75pk)
Travel Wipes
12 Nappies
Cellular Blanket
Teddy comforter/cutchy
Small tube of Bepanthen if it’s needed
For Me:
Maternity pads (10pk)
Breast pads (6) I was advised not to take loads as it takes a few days for your milk to come through and I know for the first three days you only produce colostrum. Is this correct of me? I have more obviously and can get my o/h to bring more in if needed.
A Large towel
Flannel
Toiletries: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Vitamin E facial wipes, Shampoo ect.
Lots of hair bands/clips
Chap stick/Lipsil
2 Comfortable, stretchy outfits
Maternity Bra
6 Pairs of black cotton underwear which can be disposed of
Breastfeeding cream
Plan on taking two bags one for myself and one for my baby and getting my boyfriend or another family member to bring it in later on. Also getting snacks/drinks closer to the time.
Have I over packed, would anyone suggest anything I’ve missed or anything I won’t actually need.
Sorry for the huge list! I guess I’m paranoid and want everything to go right.

Your dog did something unusual that made you smile?
Last night when I headed to my bedroom my dog was sitting in the hallway in front of my bedroom door. He looked happy and he was wiggling his little behind smiling at me.
I entered my bedroom and found a completely bare bed. The comforter had been pulled to the floor as well as the wool blanket, flat sheet and pillows. All was stacked on the floor in a great big pile.
It was the first time he was doing something like and it must have been a lot of work for him to achieve this, I could not help it and laughed.
best type of bedding to prevent dust mites? Cotton? wool? quilted?
I recently found out i might have dust mites. i just purchased a new comforter that i have not slept in yet but i am wondering if it is going to be more harmful then maybe a blanket or quilt. I am wondering what type of fabric is best. I really don’t want this problem to get worse? i just bought all the mattress covers and pillow protectors.thanks
Hemp vs Wool for clothing?
I cannot find a proper discussion on the web about this. What makes a better material? Wool or Hemp? I mean only for clothing, and bedding. Please compare the two both sciencetiically and personally.
I dont know much about sheep shearing, but just watching someone do it makes me sick, I want to switch over all my clothing to either eco-friendly synthetic and plant based, but dont have the money yet. Im trying to find a great plant alternative to wool weaters/socks/comforters/blankets etc…. can someone help me please???
mankind has not sheared sheep since sheep existed? why would sheep die if not sheared? do we move them to hotter climates on purpose as an excuse to shear them? I am very confused.
How risky is it if I wash my "dry clean only" comforter on gentle in cold, then no-heat dry it?
I’m not sure whether or not it has any wool in it, and I don’t remember whether or not ALL comforters say "dry clean only" :-/ He said I could try it, he doesn’t care, but what if I shrink it or something, and have to go find a new one?!
How do you freshen up dry-clean-only comforters?
I fear using Febreze. One is a Pendleton wool (well 82% wool, 18% cotton) blanket and the other is 100% Polyester.
Any experience? ideas?
It is raining so hanging them outside is not an option. Could I through them in my dryer? I have one of the nice new ones…
Do they make wool or wool blend pajamas for my father in law who is always cold?
He is in a skilled care facility and has down comforters and wool blankets but is asking for wool PJ’s? He has flannel but says he is still cold. I know part of this is because of circulation as he has congestive heart failure but he is still cold. Any help would be appreciated
